Philippine light flyweight champion Marlon Tapales of Lanao del Norte will face Richard Olisa of Manila in the main event of a fight card held in the municipality of Glan, Sarangani Province this October 6. Olisa (20W-11L-1D, 11 KO's) is a top jr. bantamweight contender in the country. Tapales (13W-1L,4 KO's) won the R.P. 108 lb division title with a sensational 7th round TKO win over Warlito Parrenas last April in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Tapales and Olisa will figure in a ten round non-title bout with a ?catchweight? limit of 114 lbs.

For the supporting bouts: Superflyweights Mark Anthony Geraldo of Valencia, Bukidnon and Ricardo Roa of Manila will fight in a ten rounder, Featherweights RJ Anoos of Cebu and Jog Alim of Davao will figure in an eight round scrap.

One of the more interesting bouts in the undercard is the rematch between Marlon Alta of Maitom, Sarangani and Naozumi Tsuchiyama of Japan. In the Philippines vs World fight card last month at Cebu?s Waterfront Hotel, Alta won by 2nd round TKO over Tsuchiyama. Team Tsuchiyama did not like the stoppage and thought it was premature. The Japanese fights with a prosthetic right leg.

Another fascinating preliminary bout is between Rolando Navarette,Jr of Gensan and Don King Tampus of Davao (6 rounds miniflyweights).

Other bouts include Christian Saga of Cebu vs Rocky Sardido of Davao (6 rounds jr.bantamweights), Aorel Romasasa of Glan vs Charly Lamila of Davao (6 rounds flyweights) and Jobel Romasasa vs Meljo Gromo of Zamboanga (4 rounds miniflyweights). This boxing event is presented by RWS International Promotions, Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao and Mayor Tata Yap.
