The ALA Gym?s Rocky Fuentes made a second successful defense of his OPBF flyweight title by beating Japanese challenger Yasuto Aritomi by 8th round TKO in Nagoya, Japan. He was accompanied by cornermen Joseph Baldago and Edito Villamor.

Fuentes (27 W-6L-2 D, 17 KO's) won the title last March with a majority decision win over Japanese Masafumi Okubo in Tokyo. His first title defense was against Shigetaka Ikehara last June in Tokyo where he won by 11th round TKO.

This was Aritomi?s second career loss. He was making his second attempt to win the OPBF title.

Marjun Yap however, lost by decision in the undercard to former OPBF superbantamweight champion Hiromasa Ohashi. ALA Promotions patriarch Antonio L. Aldeguer relayed the fight results to philboxing.

This solidifies Fuentes' reputation was a road warrior. He is ranked in the top ten of the four major sanctioning bodies.
