Tanjay City, Negros Oriental - Fernando ?Batang Bato? Ocon of the RWS Stable of Cebu City pummelled Nelson Llanos of Butuan City for ten rounds and won by unanimous decision in the main event of the fight card held last Saturday at the Tanjay Square Garden.
Despite being at the receiving end of Ocon?s power punches, Llanos kept on showboating that he could take everything Ocon could dish out. The veteran Llanos also resorted to roughhousing and was a deducted a point after his head butt opened a cut on Ocon?s left eyebrow. As the rounds progressed, the southpaw Ocon used lateral movement to protect his lead and scored with right hooks and jab straight combos. The three judges? scorecards all read 99-90 for Ocon who remains unbeaten at 6 wins with 1 KO. Llanos drops to 20W-23L-2D.
RJ Anoos of Cebu City won by second round TKO over Jomar Ministerio of Cagayan de Oro City.
Anoos peppered his opponent with head and body shots then knocked him down twice in the second round. The referee stopped the fight at the 1:21 mark.
Christian Saga of Cebu City beat Gary Macalam of Cagayan de Oro City by technical knockout in the second round.
Saga used a crisp right hook to deck Macalam who was wobbly when he got up prompting the referee to stop the fight. Official time- 1: 47 round 2.
Rajah Nas Bantugan of Siquijor won by TKO in the 3rd round over Adrien Solo of Siaton, Negros Oriental. The southpaw Bantugan repeatedly scored with his left straight until Solo?s corner mercifully threw in the towel at 52 seconds of the round.
Romel Banquirigo of Gen. Santos City beat Renjie Sabanal of Siaton, Negros Oriental by majority decision in a rough and bruising 4 round bout. Two judges? scorecards read 39-37 for Banquirigo and one judge had it 38-38.
