
Lionel Bacaltos Cup Finals August 7 in Sibonga

The finals of the 3rd Lionel Bacaltos Cup amateur boxing tournament will be part of the undercard for the professional boxing event that will be in held at the Bonifacio Bacaltos Sports and Cultural Centrum in Sibonga, Cebu this Saturday.
There will be eleven scheduled amateur contests ranging from the 40 kg to 61 kg weight categories: Reboy Deiparine of Casantic - Bato vs Jason Campa?a of Sabang (40-41 kgs), Mark Nazaren Cureda of Guimbangco-an vs. Jenelito Gerundio of Bagacay (43-45 kgs), Jitro Solatario of Lindongon versus Jerry Lastroverde (Guest) (45-47 kgs.), Kineth Fernandez of BDP stable Papan vs. Danny Boy Bustamante of Guimbanco-an (47-48 kgs), Clarence Antipona of Sabang vs Randy Gonzales of Bagacay (48.5 ? 49.5 kgs.), Raymundo Camocamo of Sabang vs Julio Hermilisawan of Casantic-Bato (49 ? 51 kgs.), Junril Repunte of Sabang vs Tony Silva of Guimbanco-an (51.5-52.5 kgs), Jake Cortes of Casantic- Bato vs Romel Acruz (Guest) (53.5-54.5 kgs), Antonio Santos of Sabang vs Klien Tacorda (guest) (57-57.5 kgs), Jayson delos Santos of Casantic-Bato vs Jason Harabay of Libo (58-59.5 kgs), Arwen Gil of Casantic-Bato vs Jeffrey Harabay of Libo (59-61kgs).
This boxing tournament is hosted by the Sibonga local government headed by Mayor Lionel E. Bacaltos through the efforts of Vice Mayor Rey Apuda. The amateur tourney started with 45 boxers last July 25 with fights held weekly. The winners will receive medals and the winning teams will receive cash prizes with 10,000 pesos going to the overall champion.
The professional card is headlined by undefeated superflyweight prospect Marco Demecillo Singwangcha of Cebu City who will figure in a ten round bout against Joash Aparecio of Cagayan de Oro City.
Also scheduled to see action are Jestoni Pepito Singwangcha of Cebu City who will face Alvin Maquiling of Cagayan de Oro in a ten round superbantamweight contest. Bantamweights Marvin Tampus of Bato, Leyte vs. Aljon Salugaol of Cebu (8 rounds), flyweights Rex Tito Singwangcha of Manila vs. Jerome Bontog of the Phil-Aust Gym of Mandaue City (8 rounds), flyweights Elmer Pono of the TI Yamagata Gym vs Reymond Fermin of the Phil-Aust gym (4 rounds) and superflyweights Jerome Casas of Leyte vs. Jomar Torion of the Phil-Aust Gym (4 rounds).
The professional boxing event is promoted by Rex ?Wakee? Salud, Aljoe Jaro and Naris Singwangcha of Thailand. Bouts start at 6 P.M.
