Undefeated and world ranked Milan Melindo of Cagayan de Oro City will face Jin-Man Jeon of South Korea this August 28 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City. The fight card billed as ?Philippines vs the World? is headlined by Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista versus Alejandro Barrera of Mexico.

Melindo is ranked by the four major sanctioning bodies and currently holds the WBC Youth Intercontinental flyweight title. His opponent Jeon (13W-3L-1D, 3 KO?s) is a former WBO Asia-Pacific flyweight champion and won the Korean flyweight title last year with a fifth round knockout of Ki-Suk Bae.

Melindo stands 5?2? and started his pro career as a minimumweight but is now more comfortable fighting at 110 to 112 lbs. Jeon, who is taller at 5?5 1/2? will also be bigger as he has fought between 113 to 116 lbs in his last four fights. They will be fighting at the flyweight limit of 112 lbs. The 30 year old Jeon is rated OPBF #4 flyweight contender, PABA #3 flyweight and WBC#37 flyweight.

The 22 year old Melindo (21W-0L, 6 KO?s) had three tough wins that went the distance against former IBF world minimumweight champ Muhammad Rachman of Indonesia, Jose Guadalupe Martinez of Mexico and Anthony Villareal of the U.S. before he scored a 4th round knockout win against Komrit Twins Gym of Thailand last April in Dubai, which was the site of the first Philippines vs the World match-up.

Melindo is a thinking man?s pocket warrior. His wins against Rachman, Martinez and Villareal not only showed his toughness but his versatility and ability to adjust and think inside the ring. His efforts earned him a special citation during the 28th SAC-SMB Cebu Sports Awards last March.

If Jin-Man Jeon fights like recent Bohol visitors Young Bin Kim and Big Yoo, then fans are in for another exhilarating slugfest.

Also seeing action this August is former IBF minimumweight champ Florante Condes who will fight Sofyan Effendi of Indonesia and Jimrex ?The Executioner? Jaca who will face Pipino Cuevas,Jr. of Mexico.
