Larry Canillas of Toledo City will perform in front of his hometown fans this July 13 at the Lutopan Recreation Center. He will fight Prell Tupas of Metro Manila in a ten round non-title bout. Canillas got the monicker ?Bon Jovi? after the popular New Jersey rock band because of his high octane ?rocking and rolling? offensive style as well as his talent for karaoke.
Canillas (13W-2L, 11 KO?s) fights in the 122 lb. division and is one of the rising stars of the ALA gym. Last month, he knocked out Dexter Mendoza in two rounds in Mandaue City. He has scored six straight knockout wins.
Tupas (6W-5L-4D) bears the ring monicker ?The Joker? but he will have to be dead serious on fight night to stop the surging Canillas.
Also set to see action is the popular Jojo ?Flash? Intor who will face Romano Gelig of Bohol in a six round superbantamweight contest. There will be three other supporting bouts: Flyweights Marjun Macahilig of Aklan vs. Mark Anthony Geraldo of Cagayan de Oro 8 rounds, Bantamweights Mark Jesson Taroja of Agusan del Sur vs Jaime Alin of Cagayan de Oro 6 rounds and superflyweights Kotsky Ebalang of Cagayan de Oro vs Charlie Sabijon of Negors Oriental 4 rounds.
This boxing card is presented by ALA Promotions and PAMCC (Panaghiusa Sa Mga Mamumuo Sa Carmen Copper) in coordination with the Pastoral Council of Lutopan in line of the Lutopan Annual Fiesta celebration.
