Edrin ?The Sting? Dapudong of the Braveheart Stable of North Cotabato Vice Gov Manny Pi?ol is scheduled to fight Jesus Jimenez of Mexico for the WBC SILVER BELT flyweight title on June 19, 2010 in Tepic, Mexico.

Dapudong (17W-2L, 9 KO's) previously won the WBO Asia-Pacific minimumweight and WBO Oriental lt.flyweight belts. His best career win was the 7th round TKO of Bert Batawang at the Cebu Coliseum last April,25 2009. This fight was considered one of the best ring battles waged in Cebu last year. Dapudong is highly rated by the major sanctioning bodies( IBF #6; WBO #2; WBA #7 and WBC #13) and will be accompanied by his trainer, Noli Pi?ol.

On the same card, Richard Jun Garcia gets another chance to fight for the WBC SILVER BELT superflyweight title against Juan Jose Montes of Mexico. Garcia (21W-10L-1D, 5 KO's) will be accompanied by his trainer Joven Jimenez. Montes beat Fernando Lumacad of the Philippines by unanimous decision last year for the WBC Youth superflyweight title.

The WBC Silver belt is a new innovation by the World Boxing Council to give value to many fights that cannot be for a WBC world title but are bouts of great importance. These fights have been arranged through the assistance of Sampson Boxing LLC and SGG Sports Promotions. Promoter Sammy Gello-ani said that they are now having their US visas processed and hopefully they can leave days before the fight. Both are actively in training for this big break in their respective careers.
