A press conference for the November 19 defense of Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista will be held on Tuesday in Manila, said Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim in an interview the other day.

Lim, who confirmed that Bautista will be defending his World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific bantam title against a soon-to-be-named Tanzanian challenger at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex on November 19, said he will be meeting with Manila scribes to fill them in with the latest on Bautista, currently one of the country's most exciting fighters.

Lim also noted that another press conference will be held in Cebu City on Monday.

The city government of Tagbilaran and the provincial government of Bohol through Gov. Erico B. Aumentado have each agreed to put up P500,000 as seed money to promote Bautista's fight, which will also feature another Boholano, Caesar Amonsot, going up against WBO Asia Pacific junior lightweight champ Victor Mausul of Indonesia.

The twinbill, a first in Bohol history, will undoubtedly become the biggest blockbuster boxing spectacle in the history of the province.

"I have already talked to two groups of television programs, each willing to cover the event. Although I have yet to finalize who gets to cover it," said Lim in the interview.

The blockbuster event is a joint project of the provincial government of Bohol, the City of Tagbilaran, and Cebu boxing godfather Antonio L. Aldeguer, who manages Bautista and Amonsot.
