MARQUEZ POLISHES OFF VASQUEZ IN THREE

Los Angeles, CA:- Rafael Marquez beat Israel Vasquez on the fourth fight of their historic series of fights via a third round stoppage. Referee Raul Caiz Jr waved off the fight at 1:33 of the 3rd round.

Marquez dropped Vasquez on one knee but the game veteran survived the KD. Soon after Caiz finished counting, he allowed the fight to continue. Marquez immediately jump on Vasquez and after landing a solid right hand that buckled the knees of Vasquez, Caiz has seen enough and waved off the fight.

Vasquez suffered a deep cut on the right eyelid early in the fight which Caiz ruled as caused by a punch. By the second round, the cutman of Vasquez was kept busy by the bleeding.

At the beginning of round three Vasquez suffered a huge deep cut on the left eyelid caused by a headbutt.

With the win, Marquez is now 39-5-0, 35KO while Vasquez dropped to 44-5-0, 33KO.
