Domingo and Melendez Ready For Sunday's Ring War

The cast of the highly anticipated ?HANGAD NA PAGHIHIGANTI? fight card had their official weigh-in Saturday noon at the Ayala Activity Center in Cebu. Michael Domingo (40W-15L-2D, 19 KO?s) of the ALA Gym of Cebu weighed in at the bantamweight limit of 118 lbs while Luis Melendez (26W-5L-1D, 21 KO?s) of Colombia weighed 119 lbs.

It was agreed that upon that Melendez will not shed the excess pound as this is a non-title fight. The aftermath of Melendez' fight with Z Gorres last November has provided the dramatic backdrop for this fight. Gorres is expected to be at ringside on Sunday.

Jimrex Jaca (29W-6L-3D, 14KO?s) of Cebu weighed in a 136 ? lbs while James Kimori ( 15W-3L, 11KO?s) of Kenya weighed in at 139 ? lbs. Kimori was given time to shed the excess two pounds for this 10 round contest whose stipulated weight is 137 lbs.

Both Jason Pagara (21W-1 L, 10 KO?s) of the ALA Gym of Cebu and Romeo Jakosalem (10W-3L-1D, 5 KO?s) of Davao made the required weight for their 10 round lightweight bout.

Superfeatherweights James Bacon (11W-1L, 7 KO?s) of the ALA Gym and Cerilo Espino (7W-4L, 6 KO?s) of Batangas weighed in at 129 lbs for their 8 round contest.

Kotsky Ebalang (2W-0 L) of Cagayan de Oro (114 lbs) will fight Rocky Sisumundo (1W-0L) of the Harada Stable of Tagbilaran City (116 lbs)for 4 rounds, Welbeth Loberanis (1W-0L) of Mandaue City and Anthony Galigao (1W-0L-1D) of the Harada Stable of Tagbilaran City made weight for their 4 round flyweight bout and featherweights Jocel Gestopa (1W-0L) vs Gerald Ranque (2W-1L) of the Harada Stable will open the festivities in a 4 round contest.

Fight time at the Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront City Hotel will be at 6 PM and the slightly delayed television coverage is courtesy of ABS-CBN.
