The NEXT PROSPECTS Boxing show will have their second phase this Saturday May 15 at the Mabolo Sports Complex in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City. The main event of the card is a twelve rounder between Anthony ?ROCKY? Marcial of Zamboanga City against Dante ?Chowking? Paulino of Manila for the vacant WBO Oriental Lightweight Championship.

Marcial (16W-1 L, with 15 KO?s) is a former WBO Asia-Pacific jr. lightweight titlist. As part of his preparation for this bout, he has been sparring with his former tormentor, Jack de Asis in Manila. This fight will prepare Marcial for an international outing later this year if he wins. Marcial lost in an upset 3rd round TKO in a non-title bout last May 2009 at the Cebu Coliseum to De Asis when his left eye was shut prompting the ring physician to recommend a halt to the bout.

Last March, Marcial won by second round TKO over Daryl Pucdol in a fight card held at the Mandaue City Plaza Square.

Adonis Cabalquinto, a former member of the national pool will have his second professional fight against Billy Balleser of Bohol. Another former Philippine Team member seeing action is Froilan Saludar will fight against Ryan Illustrisimo of Cebu City.

Mark Anthony Geraldo of Valencia, Bukidnon who is undefeated at 17 fights will face Apol Suico of Cebu. Another prospect to watch is Jason Canoy who at 9 fights is undefeated and will face Roel Aunor of Butuan City.

This event boasts of fifteen exciting pairs promoted by SGG Sports Promotions and Sampson Boxing LLC in cooperation with Omega Boxing Gym and the Mabolo Barangay Council as part of their continuing search for the next Filipino boxing stars.

Official weigh-in is on May 14th at the Mabolo Sports Complex at 11:00 o?clock in the morning.
