A Good-y Mom

Goody Llido-Pe?alosa, wife of reigning World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion Gerry Pe?alosa, describes herself as a typical mother with a big heart. She admits she loves her children unconditionally and that she will do everything so they can have the best chances in the world.

?I am a woman who takes care of her children, dressing and feeding them while steadfastly securing for them a stable, warm and loving family atmosphere,? the GenSan beauty shares.

Julio Ceasar, 10 years old and Julienne Gayle, 8, can turn to their cool mom for guidance, help, courage, understanding and assurance ?at whatever cost,? Goody says.

The daughter of former city councilor Ditdit Llido is the disciplinarian in the family. She is firm in instilling in her children the Golden Rule and the reverence of God's love through prayers. She also makes sure they respect their elders. ?Although I am a disciplinarian, I make it a point to listen and hear their side,? Goody reveals.

A fable that Goody tells her children and would like them to learn a lesson from, is the story of The Rabbit and the Turtle. ?I want them to remember that victory belongs to the Turtle who walked with consistent care and not to the Rabbit who prematurely rested on his laurels,? Goody shares.

Besides sharing stories, JC and Julienne enjoy playing and laughing with their parents. They also travel in and out of the country as a family whenever they can. Goody says the children appreciate these bonding moments more and more as they grow up. ?Traveling has become more enjoyable for them as they are maturing because they now have a better understanding and appreciation of different cultures. We also try out different restaurants in the places we visit,? says Goody.

For the Llido-Pe?alosa family, the sayings ?like father, like son? and ?like mother, like daughter? are true. JC got his looks from his Dad as well as the boxer?s mannerisms. He is also more inclined towards sports, sharing the same interest as his father. Julienne, on the other hand, resembles Goody physically and even talks and acts like her Mom. She likes writing and drawing with Goody.

?JC is caring, loving and has a sunny disposition, something he got from me. Julienne is considerate, obedient, and generous. She is assertive and stands up for what she wants,? Goody describes the two children. ?In the course of life, I hope they get my courage, positive outlook, and resilience in the face of adversity; and Gerry's determination, perseverance and focus.?

?My children are my priceless possessions. These angels touch my heart. They are the embodiment of my hopes and dreams. My anchor and my rock,? Goody lovingly adds.

The cool mom is happiest when she performs ?mom tasks? and does not tire of hearing the words ?I love you Mom!? from the children. However, she finds it difficult to strike a balance between loving and spoiling them. ?This is a constant struggle for me because as much as I would like for them to have everything, I realize the danger of giving them too much,? Goody admits.

Goody finds contentment knowing that she has done her share in providing the children discipline, guidance and inspiration. She is still open to making modifications along the way since the two are growing up and still have a long way to go. Goody?s prayer is that JC and Julienne grow in God's mantle, enjoy their childhood, know what?s right and wrong, and cherish all the beautiful memories they have made as a family.

She knows that her love will help them chart their future well so that they will succeed in their chosen endeavors, desires and aspirations. And she can only hope that when the kids are already adults, they will look back with fondness on their happy childhood with their Mom and Dad. #
