Filipino Grandmaster Wesley So drew his first game with the black pieces against GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami of Iran Tuesday night in the A1 group (for chessplayers with a FIDE rating higher than 2549) of the ongoing Aeroflot Open 2010 Tournament in Moscow.
The game was drawn in 25 moves of a Queen's gambit.
The 16 year old So (ELO 2656)will play with the white pieces tonight and face 27 year old GM Dmitry Bocharov (ELO 2594)of Russia.
Bocharov's game database at chessgames.com shows he plays the Sicilian against 1.e4 and the Nimzoindian or Bogoindian against 1.d4.
Filipino GM Darwin Laylo lost to Azerbaijan's Rauf Mamedov in his first game. He will face another Azerbaijan, GM Eltaj Safarli today.
Prominent names joining this tournament include GM Gata Kamsky, who was upset by So in the recent World Cup, GM Bu Xiangzhi and Hou Yifan of China, GM Krishnan Sasikiran of India, GM Etienne Bacrot of France and veterans GM Alexander Khalifman and GM Jan Ehlvest.
The winner of this prestigious tournament gets 21,000 euros.
