BERTO’S HOMETOWN WOES OPENS DOOR FOR MOSLEY- MAYWEATHER TIFF, BUT WILL JUNIOR TAKE THE CHALLENGE?

Okay enough said about the big fight that was not.

Pacquiao has moved on to meet Joshua Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium on March 13th.

Now with the recent announcement that Berto’s home town woes left him physically and mentally drained to properly prepare to fight Shane Mosley on January 30th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, a golden opportunity opens up for Junior to have a chance to gain some measure of respect from the boxing fans once again.

Although it sad to say and I honestly feel for Berto’s loss at Haiti, I sincerely hope no one used that terrible catastrophe to convince him to step aside for a handsome fee to allow him to focus the unfortunate events in Haiti but more importantly, give Mayweather a chance to redeem himself by fighting Mosley.

In fact there has been rumors about giving Berto a step aside fee even before the earthquakes hit Haiti.

Remember, Junior lost his entire draw when he demanded ridiculous and unprecedented demands for blood testing as a condition to meet Pacquiao on top of the ring. His demands largely caused his proposed fight with Pacquiao on March 13th be cancelled.

Thus his credibility went down to the sewer.

Putting together a Mosley-Mayweather fight is the only way Team Mayweather can come close to the magnitude of the Pacquiao-Clottey fight on March 13th.

Definitely they will leave no stone unturned to at least get an equalizer.

There is no better time than now to undercut the allure of the Pacquiao-Clottey fight by announcing a Mosley-Mayweather fight on the same day Top Rank announces the Pacquiao-Clottey fight.

I am sure they are all itching to do that and have a chance to say: "I told you so"

But the big question still lingers.

Will Junior overrule GBP again and refuse to fight Mosley?

Is he the coward many has branded or is he for real?

Schaefer reportedly insinuated that he will in the next two days make an announcement.

For sure he knows that Berto is withdrawing before the news broke so he must be prepared for this.

Is he now going to announce that Junior finally regain his balls and decided to outdo Pacquiao by fighting Mosley?

I sure hope so. And, I can’t wait to see Junior put his money where his mouth is.

But I highly doubt he will because a fight with Mosley is a no win situation for him.

Mosley even at his age is still on top of his game and he will go all out to put Junior where he truly belongs - on the canvas staring at the lights.

And the fact that he will be the first one to do that is priceless.

Junior knows that and so a Mosley- Mayweather will just remain a dream.

Nothing more and nothing less.
