If it wasn?t for the Pacquiao-Mayweather blood feud, the developing story of ?Marvellous? Marvin Sonsona?s whereabouts would have grabbed the sports headlines in the Philippines.
The former WBO superflyweight champion was scheduled to leave for the U.S. last weekend together with Ciso ?Kid Terrible? Morales and trainer Nonito Donaire,Sr. But Sonsona has sulked in Gen. Santos City prompting promoter Sammy Gello-ani to make a frantic effort to fetch him.
Boxing fans and writers are currently speculating as to the real reason for the delays in his training and travel to the States.
Sonsona is now in Manila together with Gello-ani and the undefeated southpaw will be having his routine medical tests. He is scheduled to leave for the U.S. tonight. Donaire,Sr. and Morales are still in Cebu but will leave for Manila today.
