
THE NINJA READY FOR ACTION TONIGHT: BATAWANG, AMISA MAKE WEIGHT

Cebu?s old warhorse Bert ?The Ninja? Batawang made the 108 lb. weight limit during the official weigh-in yesterday at Bao Hua International Hotel in Guangdong, China. His opponent, Jack Amisa of Indonesia, also weighed 108 lbs. They will fight tonight for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Jr. Flyweight title.
This was relayed by promoter Sammy Gello-ani. WBO Vice Pres. Leon Panoncillo was also in attendance.
The 38 year old Batawang is a 19 year pro and has previously held the WBO Oriental and WBA Pan-African titles. He has a record of 44 wins, 36 by KO with 14 losses and 3 draws. Two years ago, he lost in his only world title shot, a ninth round TKO loss to then IBF lt.flyweight champ Ulises Solis.
His opponent, Amisa has a record of 19 wins, 14 by Ko, with 10 losses and 2 draws.
