Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico:- It’s Friday morning in this lovely city and Rodel Mayol woke up feeling really great.

“I feel so good today particularly after doing a pre-weigh in”, Mayol informed this writer. Mayol did the weigh-in at the room of the “Boxeo de Gala” personnel who set up an “unofficial scale” to allow fighters to take a preliminary weigh in and know where they stand prior to the official weigh-in at about 2PM today.

Mayol is just a tad below the fight contract weight of 108 lbs and without doubt when he steps up the scales for the official weight-in this afternoon, he will be just fine.

“We are glad that we will make weight without any trouble at all” said Jesse Arevalo, Mayol’s head trainer who together with Jeremiah Quijano supervised Mayol’s training at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood.

Mayol’s spirit was further lifted when Team Mayol spotted Mr. Eric Buhain, the Chairman of GAB having breakfast with Don Jose and Mauricio Sulaiman of the WBC.

“We did not know Mr. Buhain will be here and that is a pleasant surprise for Rodel,”, Lira Mayol stated. “Now we are sure that things will be fair because Mr. Buhain will be there looking at things”, she added.

Mayol and Edgar Sosa will be fighting for the WBC minimum weight title tomorrow before a reportedly sell out crowd.
