Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico:- The final press conference for the battle between Edgar Sosa and Rodel Mayol was held today at this beautiful tourist town in southeast Mexico. Considering the stopovers this city is some 9 hours flight from Los Angeles.

Sosa and Mayol will be fighting for the WBC minimum weight title on Saturday.

Prior to the presscon where Sosa met Mayol for the first time, Sosa was predicting that he will knockout Mayol outright. However, at the presscon for some reason, he started changing his story saying that he will fight Mayol toe to toe if that is Mayol’s choice, or he will work the body to breakdown Mayol and if a knockout opportunity comes, he will take it.

Why the sudden change in the Sosa’s tune? Only Sosa and his team know for sure.

As for Mayol, he indicated that he will do his best to make the fight interesting and entertaining but along the way, he plans to bring home the WBC belt.

The WBC head honchos headed by Don Jose Sulaiman arrived today at the hotel fight headquarters, the Holiday Inn along Boulevard Bellisario Dominguez in downtown Tuxtla Gutierrez.

Tomorrow at 1:00PM they will hold the official weigh in. Mayol is in perfect shape and his conditioning is just right. He is slightly underweight so that he can afford to eat, indeed an advantage for fighters in his weight class.

Mayol’s food is not from any of the restaurants in town. It is specially cooked for him by Jing Quijano. “We did some some grocery shopping today and I have everything I need to cook Mayol’s favorite food”, Quijano stated. Quijano brought portable cookware and a stove from Los Angeles upon the advice of Lira Mayol, Rodel’s lovely wife.
