DUMP MAYWEATHER, LET’S GO FOR AN 8TH TITLE LEGACY

Las Vegas, NV:- Freddie Roach said it best. “Mayweather is a fight the world wants to see but we will fight whatever gives the best deal for Manny”.

The best deal for Manny! And the same is true for his family and his country!

Roach could not have said it any better!

And, I agree with him.

I am pretty sure every boxing fan reading this article will disagree with what I am about to say. And I am aware that I may leave myself unprotected from many posters and bloggers on Internet forums who, as usual will throw everything at me for my statement.

But I stand firm in saying:- Dump Mayweather and let’s go for an 8th-title legacy.

After all, who needs Mayweather, his loudmouth team and their greed?

After seeing what Pacquiao has done to Cotto and most importantly, the numbers they generated at the MGM and the great PPV “Firepower” earned, there should be no urgency in trying to get a fight with Mayweather.

At this point and time, from my perspective an 8th division title will bring more to Pacquiao than everything else he could get with a victory over Mayweather.

And that is not to mention what such accomplishment will do for a country like the Philippines who could use all the positive exposures to negate the not so good stuff that is presently prevalent in the country.

And least I forget, the pride it will bring to the psyche of just being a Filipino.

The money?

No problem. Pacquiao can still earn as much or the very least close to what he will make with a Mayweather fight

Needless to say, an 8th title will bring wonders to his chances of winning a congressional seat as people will revere him more than they ever do now with his 7th title.

Certainly, he could not generate such with a victory over Mayweather as that is something that is already a given.

Mayweather, I contend even with everything he has been saying lately, does not have what it takes to beat Pacquiao. He knows that and his father and his team know that too!

Why do you think he wants the greater majority of the purse split? The guy is no dummy. He knows he should get as much as he can from a fight with Pacquiao because after the Pacman places him where he truly belongs, his potential to make money as a boxer will be greatly reduced.

Who do I say should be next for Pacquiao for him to win his 8th division title?

I say, let’s bring on that nice Jewish kid from Belarus, Yuri Foreman who earned his 154lbs title by beating the ex-champion, Daniel Santos on the undercard of the Pacquiao-Cotto fight.

Foreman is now the new WBA super welterweight champion and I see him as an easy target for Pacquiao. The would-be rabbi does not stand a prayer to beat Pacquiao.

So what about it Uncle Bob?

If you say that you truly care about the Filipinos as you care about Pacquiao, then bring on the Pacquiao-Foreman title match in March 2010 and allow Pacquiao a chance to win his 8th division title.

That should bring unprecedented glory to his family, his country and himself.

Wouldn’t that be great?
