The series of tragic natural disasters battering Metro Manila and Luzon has forced Team Sonsona to abandon their plans to have newly crowned WBO Jr. Bantamweight world champ “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona train in Baguio.

The 19 year old Sonsona (14-0, 12 KO’s) will train in Cebu and is scheduled to arrive this Monday. The Baguio City training was supposed to held him acclimatize to the Canadian cold when he returns to Ontario, Canada this November for the first defense of his title against Alejandro “Payasito” Hernandez (22-7-1, 11 KO’s) of Mexico City. Casino Rama will once again host the bout which will headline the tenth edition of RUMBLE AT RAMA on November 21.

Jun Agrabio and Nonito Donaire, Sr. will once again join forces to sharpen Sonsona for this crucial fight. Sonsona may have a world title belt around his waist but his learning process will have to continue. Last month, Sonsona entered the 115 lb. rankings of Ring Magazine, the publication considered as the Bible of Boxing. He is ranked number 9 among the top jr.bantamweights or superflyweights in the world. Fellow pinoys Drian Francisco is number 10 while Nonito Donaire,Jr. Is number 7. Team Sonsona will set up camp in Talisay City.

Another Pinoy, Ciso 'Kid Terrible' Morales is scheduled to fight in the undercard and will be trained by Donaire,Sr. and Jojo Palacios. He is scheduled to face a Mexican Miguel Angel Gonzales Piedras ( 10W-1L, 4 KO's) in a non-title bout.
