Ramie Laput beat Anthony Eric Macas by unanimous decision in their ten round non-title fight at the Cebu Coliseum Friday night.
Laput landed the cleaner blows and controlled the action from the opening bell. Macas' effort in launching a counter-offensive were too few and far in between. The scorecards read: 97-93, 97-93 and 99-91. Laput is ranked number 4 by the WBO and is the current WBO Intercontinental titlist
Fernando Lumacad won by unanimous ten round decision over Nino Suelo. Both fighters started tentatively until the third round when Suelo stunned Lumacad with a right. Lumacad fought back and a furious exchange at ring center ensued. The fight was a well fought tactical battle but Lumacad landed the cleaner blows. Suelo faded in the 8th round as Lumacad continued to press the initiative until the end of the fight. The scores: 96-94, 96-94 and 98-92.
Ariel Barotillo scored a second round TKO win over Joy Pol. One point was deducted from Barotillo in the opening round due to an accidental head butt. But in the 2nd, Barotillo unleashed a fusillade of punches and pinned Pol in his own corner and knocking him down. Official time: 2:12 of the second round. Ariel is trained by brother Arnel Barotillo a former world ranked contender who lost to Manny Pacquiao seven years ago.
