WILL THE REAL NO. 1 PLEASE STAND UP?

Los Angeles, CA:- Contrary to what is obvious, to this day Floyd Mayweather Jr believes that he is still number 1. In fact, he said so himself at the Vegas presscon announcing is ?return?. He stated:- ?I come to regain what is mine?, or some thing to that effect.
And, it would not be to far off to say that their personal differences not with standing, Mayweather Sr. think the same way. He believes his Junior is the best.
Of course, nothing can be so far from the truth.
Mayweather Jr. may have been no. 1 before but after three successive victories in three different weight classes that laid to waste David Diaz, Oscar de la Hoya and Ricky Hatton, there is no doubt that the present no. 1 is the Filipino spitfire, Manny Pacquiao.
Thus no matter what is said, no matter what is written, Pacquiao is now the man. Period!
Unless Mayweather takes that title from Pacquiao on top of the ring he simply has to accept the fact that Pacquiao is now king of the world. The best pound-4-pound fighter in this generation.
Going through a smaller man like Juan Manuel Marquez is definitely not the road back to the number 1 P4P ranking. Marquez maybe a champion but he is no pound-4-pound champ. And if Junior thinks that a victory over Marquez (which is not a certainty) will put him again on the top, he simply is day dreaming. Day dreaming much like his Dad when the old man said that Hatton is going to KO Pacquiao.
Right after the Pacquiao victory over Hatton, pundits and fans alike begun calling for a Pacquiao-Mayweather Jr battle for the top.
I hope that will happen in the near future but there is a good chance that it may be delayed, or worse, may not occur.
If it does not, the only one to blame is Junior.
Junior and his delusions of grandeur.
If he waited just one more day, as Freddie Roach has indicated, a fight with Pacquiao could have happened before the year?s end. But, as Roach has hinted, Junior is scared of the Pacman thus he elected to fight Marquez instead.
And he thinks he is still the pound-4-pound king?
Another reason that would possibly derail the fight is Junior may ask for lots of money.
More than he deserves.
He may have the right to ask but surely it does not mean he truly deserve to get any more than Pacquiao, much less an equal share. It simply is not right!
Pacquiao is now the top man thus it goes to reason that he gets the top pay. I say, 60-40 for Pacquiao, no more and no less. Take it or leave it, Junior!
So, if we were to ask: - Will the real No. 1 please stand up?
The one standing should be Pacquiao!
