
Saga in Naga II Fighters Ready for Battle

Cebu boxing action moves south this coming Friday, May 8th when Sammy Gello-ani, in association with Mayor Vladimar Chiong of Naga will be hosting a fight card featuring two of the hardest hitting prospects in boxing today ? Rocky Marcial and Marvin Sonsona.
Anthony ?Rocky? Marcial of Zamboanga City is the reigning WBO Oriental Superfeatherweight Champion will face grizzled veteran Jaime Barcelona of Bukidnon in a ten round battle.
Marcial (13W-0L, 12KO) fought in the undercard of the Michael Katsidis vs Angel Ramirez WBO As-Pac lightweight title bout last January and scored a quick first round KO over Vacharakrit Senahan of Thailand. He followed it up one month later with a one round KO of Jovi Merca in Zamboanga. Marcial also gained a lot of experience sparring with Katisidis when the Australian was preparing for his Cebu Coliseum fight.
Barcelona is a twelve year pro and a veteran of 81 fights who has fought for various regional titles.
Marvin ?Marvelous? Sonsona, who hails from Gen.Santos City, is the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Champion. He will face Louie Bantigue of Cebu in an eight round contest.
Sonsona, (11-0, 10KO), beat Liempetch Sor Veerapol of Thailand by fourth round TKO in his last appearance here in Cebu also in the same January fight card.
Co-headlining in this triple main event card is Johnreil Casimiro, the WBO Oriental jr.flyweight titlist who will face Allan Ranada in an eight round contest. Casimiro is also unbeaten in 11 fights with 6 KO?s.
There will be four supporting bouts featuring Elf Gitgano vs. Kevin dela Cruz, Marvin Mabait vs Apol Suico, Richard Donaire vs. Jeffrey Pulvera and Ivan Purisima vs. Jun Salvador.
The protagonists made weight during the weigh-in held at the Games and Amusements Board office Thursday morning. The fight card billed as Saga in Naga II, will be held at the Naga Sports Complex and will start at 7:00 p.m
