Makati City, Philippines:- Manny Pacquiao is taking a long deserved rest at a swank hotel in this city prior to getting on the plane for his flight abroad to meet all the ?appearance commitments? to hype his next bout at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel against the British gladiator Ricky Hatton on May 2nd.

Pacquiao is scheduled for a press conference in London and then in several US cities including New York and Los Angeles.

After the press tours Pacquiao is set to train at the Wildcard Gym of Freddie Roach in Hollywood.

Pacquiao needed the rest as he spent the last few days finishing up his tiring business obligations including shooting last minute commercials. And, that is not to mention the baptismal of his youngest daughter a few days ago.

As luck has it, when this writer arrived at the Renaissance Hotel in this city, Pacquiao was just getting in himself with his wife Jinkee and almost all the Pacquiao boys from this side of town notably Jake Joson and Joe Ramos.

We had an opportunity to say hi and Pacquiao was kind of surprised that this writer was checked in at the same hotel.

Actually, our meeting was not planned and meeting Pacquiao was just pure coincidence. Our reservations at the hotel were made weeks ago as part of my family?s vacation at Pangalo Island in Bohol.

But I am not complaining. It was a bonus to see and talk to the champ.
