Eriberto ?Yukka? Gejon, former two time world title challenger, beat Brix ?Bomb? Ray of Davao City by unanimous decision in his comeback fight at the Island City Mall car park in Tagbilaran City last Saturday.

Gejon capitalized on his height and reach advantage early in the fight and kept Ray at bay with his jab. Gejon also showed good lateral movement and managed to avoid Ray?s rushing attack.

The complexion of the fight changed when an accidental head butt in the fourth round lead to a cut on Yukka?s forehead. With Gejon?s own blood obstructing his vision, Ray pressed the attack and chased and pummelled Gejon all across the ring.

Ray got a point deduction for the head butt. The fight transformed into a brawl which was to Ray?s advantage. He landed a powerful right in the sixth that had Gejon reeling on the ropes.

Gejon recovered just in time in the final two rounds and once again capitalized on his longer reach to land the more effective blows. The scorecards read : 98-94, 96-94 and 97-94 for the Mandaue City boxer who has halted his three fight losing streak and now improves to 24 W 4 L - 1 D, 14 KO. Ray drops to 3 W - 6L - 1D , 2 KO?s.

Newly-crowned PBF featherweight champion Ricky Sismundo ( 11 W - 3L, 3 KO) scored a second round TKO win against the Ilonggo journeyman, Reman Salim (15W- 11L). This was the third meeting between the two where Salim lost the first two fights by decision.

The evening?s special attraction featured explosive ALA gym fighter James Bacon against Jojo Arnado of Cagayan de Oro in an 8 round contest. Bacon used his hapless opponent for target practice in the first three rounds. The end mercifully came at 1:04 in the fourth round with Bacon winning by knockout.

The 18 year old Bacon now has a record of 6 knockouts in 7 wins with just a solitary loss, a four round split decision to William Jorge in Calape, Bohol last year.

The much-awaited fight professional debut of Rocky Amonsot, younger brother of the former world-rated Czar Amonsot, ended in a smashing first round TKO victory against Socrates Pasaol of the Tony Dacer stable of Davao City.

Ronilo Lawis of San Miguel, Bohol won a majority decision against Razem Laud of Bacolod City in a six round bout.

Eman Labanza of Tagbilaran won by unanimous decision over Julius Cabusas of Butuan in four rounds. Francis Lee Cutanda of Tagbilaran and Jumar Cabusas of Butuan fought to a four round split draw.

The fight card was billed as Summit Natural Drinking ?Fight Night? boxing tour presentation and was organized by ALA Promotion in coordination with the City Government of Tagbilaran. It was open and free to the public.
