Los Angeles, CA--We just heard from our sources that Nonito Donaire Jr's mandatory defense against Moruti Mthalane has been moved from the Honda Center in Anaheim to the Mandalay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

The date has not changed. It will still be Nov. 1, 2008.

To verify, we placed a call at Top Rank and Lee Samuels confirmed the change of venue to us. "The date is still November 1 but the venue will be Mandalay Bay," Samuels said. "Nonito will still be fighting his mandatory challenger," he added.

The change is due to the fact that Top Rank could not put together the Margarito-Clottey fight which was supposed to be the main event at the Honda Center.

Our sources indicated that the Donaire-Mthalane fight will be the main event and Top Rank is looking at the possibility that their other prized ward, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, will be fighting on the undercard.

A press conference to formally announce the changes will be held sometime next week.
