World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa and Bobby Pacquiao, along with top Philippine featherweight Michael Farenas, are scheduled to arrive in Cebu next week to prepare for their respective fights.
This was confirmed yesterday by boxing promoter Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who said that the trio will be training at his refurbished RWS Gym.
Salud arrived last week from Las Vegas where he was at special ringside for the Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz fight with Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena, Congresswoman Nerissa Soon-Ruis and husband Lito among other local leaders.
Although there have not been any definite plans on his next fight, Penalosa is reportedly planning to prepare this early as he looks forward to a possible fight in August or September.
Bobby Pacquiao, meanwhile, is set to headline the big MP Promotions card on August 2 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel as he faces dangerous Thai Decho Bankluaygym for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific lightweight crown.
Farenas, who is managed by Penalosa and Japan's Kosuke Washio, is coming off a May victory over Mexican Fermin De los Santos, and is expected to resurface on the undercard of Penalosa's next fight.
