JULATON FIGHTS ON HER BIRTHDAY

Las Vegas, NV: - Yesterday during the weight in at Planet Hollywood amidst the hoopla and frenzies commonly associated with the celebration of the July 4th American Independence Day, Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton was ripped and ready to go. She posed for cameras, gave interviews and treated everything like business as usual.

Julaton?s fight tonight will be something extra special. It is her birthday! Julaton will be fighting on her birthday just like her famed coach, Freddie Roach once did.

?Doc, I just want to give my fans a real great performance. But, I would love to get a knock-out on my birthday. It?s a funny feeling. Since I got one last week, I am hungry for another? says Julaton.

To get her birthday wish, Julaton needs to give the performance of her life. Her opponent, Johanna Mendez, although two pounds lighter than Julaton, is no push-over. She carries an excellent amateur record and was once a US National Bantamweight silver medalist.

She also appears disdainful of Julaton and would not look Julaton in the eyes particularly at the weigh-in yesterday. This young lady came ready to fight and it appears that although she is couple of pounds lighter and shorter in height, she did not come to Vegas to lose. Therefore, expect a continuation of the fireworks that so brightly lit the Vegas sky last night!

Yesterday, I also found out some changes which were contrary to what I initially reported last week. Brad Goodman, the Top Rank promoter stated that the Mendez camp insisted that tonight?s fight be for six rounds and that they will not fight Julaton if the fight is only scheduled for four.

I asked Team Julaton about the changes and this is their reply:- ?Doc, my opinion is that Team Mendez saw Ana?s last fight on Youtube and they plan to run around. We have no hesitation to agree to more rounds because actually, it will not make much of a difference. Mendez can run but she can?t hide and you know eventually, Ana?s power gets to her opponents. The most common thing we hear from Ana?s opponents is ? wow, we didn?t think she can hit that hard. So Saturday night, expect a crowd pleasing performance from Ana?, her confident Team stated.

Freddie Roach will be arriving to Vegas Saturday morning fresh from three knock-out performances in a row by his wards. Craig McEwen, the young Scottish warrior that trains out of Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, last night scored a 3rd round KO at Texas.

?I am so happy that Coach Freddie is already in town. He knows how to calm me down and get me ready for a big fight. I want to show Mr. Bob Arum and the whole Top Rank personnel, why I will be ready for a title fight before the year ends?, a confident Julaton stated.

Hopefully Julaton achieves that goal. If she wins the WBC super bantamweight title before the end of 2008, she will be the first female to win a legitimate world title in her rookie year.

How great can that be for our people?. The very first Filipina world champion!

Tonight will just be one of the many steps to be taken by Julaton towards that eventful World Title and her coronation as ?Queen of Philippine Boxing?. That could not be too far fetched given the fact that Julaton is not only an excellent gladiator but has the good look that goes with.

Happy Birthday, Ms Ana Julaton. You know your people will be praying and supporting you tonight.

And, they will always be behind you, particularly tonight when you blow out the candles in your cake and your opponent as well!
