Las Vegas, NV:- Some tens months ago, Ricardo Torres and Kendall Holt fought at Barranquilla in Columbia South America. On Saturday, July 5th, they will meet again at the Planet Hollywood in this city to find out once and for all, who is the better man.

Saturday?s fight came about after the above-mentioned fight held last September 2007 ended in a huge controversy. The scores from the first two judges were 95-94 for Torres and 95-94 for Holt respectively. The third judge however, had the fight as 98-91 for Torres. As a result, many problems occured, including legal ones.

With legal problems pending to blow up bigger, Top Rank stepped in and arranged a re-match hoping to stop them and also to determine who really should wear the WBO junior welterweight crown.

Planet Hollywood, who for many years have a good working relation with Top Rank, agreed to sponsor the fight. ShoBox: The New Generation will televise the fight at 11:00 PM with a slight delay in the West Coast, USA.

At the press conference, Torres indicated that he is ready. He also stated that as a fighter he can not change what people think about his first fight with Holt. ? I am prepared and I am here to win and defend the title?, he added.

Holt for his part said that on Saturday night he will prevail. ?All the hard work I put is going to pay off.

If I come up short, I know in my heart I did the best I could?.

To many fight fans, the Torres-Holt fight is interesting because it promises to end the controversy that started during the first fight 10 months ago. But to others, particularly the Filipinos, it is more than that because there are two Filipinos on the undercard.

Glenn Gonzles of the Braveheart Boxing Club in his US debut tomorrow.

Ana ?Hurricane? Julaton will be featured in a six round fight with Johana Mendez. Julaton is fresh from her 1st TKO win last Thursday, June 26th at Northern California. Saturday?s fight will be her toughest fight given the fact that her opponent holds almost the same credentials as her, from the amateurs to the pro.

Another Filipino on the card is Glen ?Rapid Fire? Gonzales, a prot?g? of Vice Gov. Manny Pinol of North Cotobato and the Braveheart Boxing Club. Gonzales will be making his US debut against a veteran from Rhode Island, Robert John Da Luz.
