Magramo keeps WBC International light fly title

ARVIN “Hurricane” Magramo retained his WBC International light flyweight title after he beat challenger Berland “Thunder” Robles by split decision last night, October 29 held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The 25-year-old Robles of Talisay City was deducted a point in the final Round 10 for excessive holding.

Judges Jojo Llanera [95-94] and Zanashir Taznaa [96-93] scored in favor of Magramo while judge Arnie Najera [95-94] saw it for Robles.

Magramo, 28, of Paranaque City improved his record to 20 wins with 11 knockouts against two loses while Robles suffered his first setback against 12 wins with five knockouts and one draw.

It was one of the fights of the Thrilla in Manila 2 promoted by International Hall of Famer Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao. [Lito delos Reyes]
