JULATON FIGHTS ANEW THIS SATURDAY

Las Vegas, NV:- After witnessing Manny Pacquiao?s impressive trouncing of former WBC lightweight champion, David Diaz of Chicago, Filipina rising star in boxing, Ana ?Hurricane" Julaton was awe-struck. And, she hopes someday she could be as successful.

After the Pacquiao-Diaz tiff, this writer had a pleasure of talking to Julaton about her fight this coming Saturday, July 5th at the Planet Hollywood.

Considering the vast similarities between Julaton and her opponent, Johana Mendez, Saturday?s fight can conceivably be the hardest one for Julaton.

Julaton and Mendez are 2007 US Championship silver medalists, both parade an undefeated record, both have similar 1st round KO in their resume and both have outstanding amateur records and reached No. 2 in ranking in national rankings. Julaton made it as a featherweight and Mendez as a bantamweight.

Ana said to me: -?Doc, I can?t tell you how excited and inspired I am after tonight?s fight. It made me want to do mitts with Coach Freddie Roach. The way Manny moved and used the jab to set up for the left was so amazing! You know my corner has code words they yell out when I spar and whenever they want me to start getting on my toes and moving my feet. They shout ?Manny Pacquiao rhythm, Ana!? Tonight I saw what Pacquiao rhythm truly is.?

At the presscon held at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort, last Saturday noon for the Holt vs. Torres fight where Julaton and Mendez fights on the undercard, Top Rank CEO, Bob Arum spent at least two minutes building up the ?Hurricane?.

?She is the most beautiful boxer I have ever seen and she has power with both hands. Yesterday, I saw a tape of her KO of an opponent in 37 seconds. you will not want to miss her fight next Saturday,? said Arum with a great deal of enthusiasm.

With Arum giving such high praises, I do not mind at all flying back to this town this weekend and possibly see what I hope would be a Pacquiao-like performance from Julaton.

?There are a few people who motivate me and even fewer people who inspire me. Kuya Manny is definitely on top of the list and I thank him for continuing to give us this gift,? said an emotional Ana.

With an extra pump up Julaton and given the importance of the next fight for one of our future champions, I urge fans and supporters to come back to this town this Saturday and cheer on our very one Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton. It would be worth the effort. Besides, there is nothing like celebrating July 4th weekend in Las Vegas!
