Las Vegas, NV :- Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton gave all her fans at the Central Valley in California a great treat last night by scoring a tremendous knock-out ala Mike Tyson in the first round.
Julaton (4-0-0 1KO) knocked-out Salina Jordan (2-5-0 1KO) in 37 seconds of the first round.
Julaton set up the KO with her first punch that landed, a powerful left jab followed by a devastating overhand right in the first 10 seconds of the fight. Jordan stood up after an eight count, but that was a bad idea.
Julaton rushed in as soon as the fight was allowed to continue landing a perfect left hook, right straight combination sending her opponent to the canvas for the second time and prompting the referee to step in and stop the fight.
?I didn?t think the ref should have allowed the fight to continue after the first KD because her eyes were glazed and the ref had to go in front to her to know where she had to walk to him. It surprised me that she got up?, said Freddie Roach
Roach flew to Central California yesterday to be at Julaton?s corner and then immediately flew back to Las Vegas after the fight to take care of business here including today?s weigh-in at the Mandalay Bay Resort Casino Events Center.
?I was just doing the combos coach has been asking me during practice. I felt it in my hands when I hit her, I knew it was a good punch. I guess it just surprised me how hard I hit?, Julaton stated.
It may have surprised Julaton, but not this writer.
Julaton felt upset after her fight at the Hard Rock Caf? during the Pacquiao-Marques fight week when the announcer mentioned that ? she had no real power and her punches had nothing on them?. Obviously, he did not see the other Julaton fights.
On her pro debut, Julaton KD a bigger Rita Valentini, a ranked fighter with 11 pro fights. Twice in the first ten seconds with a strong right and then with a powerful left hook in the fourth round. Then he followed that with a win over another rank fighter named Curly Batey.
In last night?s fight, Julaton proved the Hard Rock announcer totally wrong. She showed how much power she had by a KO win in the 37 seconds of the first round.
Julaton fights again on July 5th at the Planet Hollywood Events Center as an under card of the Kendall Holt-Ricardo Torres fight. She will meet Johanna Mendez, an undefeated fighter (3-0-0,1KO) who just like Julaton is a silver medalist in the US Championships last year.
Julaton is looking forward to this fight as she will be doing it before Bob Arum. She is eager to do well with the hopes that her skills will eventually gets noticed allowing her to achieve her goal of fighting on a future PPV event. ?I know Mr. Arum is expecting a lot for, and I do not intend to disappoint him?, Julaton said
This writer noted that Brad Goodman, one of Top Rank?s matchmakers offered the Mendez camp more money to do a 6 rounder instead of 4 but they turned it down. I guess, they know now that 6 rounds with Julaton will just be too much regardless of the purse.
With both Julaton and Mendez being undefeated, I can?t help but think that their fight may steal the show from Holt and Torres.
