Las Vegas, NV:- Dennis Laurente, the PABA lightweight champion who fights out of the Elorde Stable at Barangay Sucat in Paranaque, recently came to the US with his manager Johnny Elorde to explore the greener pastures that had attracted so many Filipino boxers particularly after the great Manny Pacquiao ?opened the flood gates.?

Thanks to Pacquiao, Laurente got a spot in the Pacquiao-Diaz undercard, an opportunity so graciously acknowledged by Elorde himself. ?Kung di dahil kay Manny, wala kami dito sa Las Vegas ngayon? (If not for Manny, we won?t be here in Las Vegas today).

Laurente though a late arrival in Hollywood, had an opportunity to train at the Wildcard Gym and has witnessed how the great Pacquiao did his thing to prepare for Diaz.

Surely, just the mere presence of Pacquiao lifted the spirits of Laurente making him more eager to train and win his debut here at Las Vegas.

Today, at the IBA Gym, Laurente was quietly toiling to finish up his routine when the Team Pacquiao arrived. That gave us an opportunity to see his moves which he will use against Steve Quinones, the sparmate of Pacquiao as he trained for Diaz. Quinones sports a record of 31-12-1 (10KO)

Laurente (28-3-5,14KO) indicated that he is set to make his debut and will give it all to entertain the crowd that came to see his hero, Pacquiao.

Unfortunately, being in the early undercard, his fight will not be seen on PPV.
