Stephen Curry poured in eight three point shots, including three at the end of the fourth quarter, to lead the offense of the United States men's basketball team to a gold-medal game triumph over Olympic host France.

Curry delivered 24 points to lead the Team USA to a 98-87 win and was awarded their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Olympic men's basketball.

LeBron James added 14 points, and Kevin Durant and Devin Booker contributed 15 points, but it was Curry's magnificent scoring which lifted the NBA star-studded Americans to the title.

France put up a good fight with Victor Wembanyama top scoring with 26 points but it was not enough to sustain the scoring machine in Curry and the rest of USA offense which connected 18-for-36 from the three-point arc.

Team USA improved its all-time record in the men's basketball in the Olympics to 149-6 after capturing podium finishes in all the 20 times it participated in the basketball event.

Durant had 15 points and James added 14 points together with 10 assists and six rebounds and was being named FIBA's MVP of the Olympic tournament.

Bianca Pagdanganan and Dotte Ardina ended their respective campaigns on a high note at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday at the Le Golf National.

Both Filipina golfers fired 4-under 68 in the fourth and final round and that was their highest output in the four-round 72-hole tournament. However, Pagdanganan narrowly missed the podium at joint 4th spot with an impressive 6-under par total.

Ardina, on the other hand, concluded her first Olympics campaign at T13 together with four other golfers with a total of 3-under 285.
