Unbeaten world-ranked bantamweight Dave "Doberman" Apolinario (20-0, 14 KO's), scared his Sanman team to-no-end by having to travel to the harsh canvas after taking a big counter-punch in the 3rd round, just to come back so fast and so furious in the 4th, dropping and stopping dangerous Thai warrior Tanes Ongjunta (12-2, 6 KO's) on Thursday, February 22, at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo in Japan.
It was at the 1:44 seconds mark in the fourth frame when veteran Japanese referee Yuji Fukuchi waived the brave Thai fighter off for one of Dave Apolinario's most important victories, one that he and his team can feel so proud.
The exciting non-title win -– which saw Dave visiting the mat for the very first time in his pro-boxing career -– might have earned the pogi 25-year-old from Gensan a shot at the world title in the hot 118-pound weight class, possibly later this year.
Congratulations!
