Tijuana, Mexico based promotional outfit TM Boxing went on a signing spree this week renewing their exclusive agreement with undefeated former WBC Youth welterweight champion Isaac “La Bestia” Lucero (11-0, 7KO) as well as securing undefeated welterweight Isaias “Bestia Jr” Lucero (15-0, 9KO), up-and-coming flyweight Armando Appel (11-2, 5KO), all three of La Paz, Mexico, and undefeated rookie middleweight Adrian “Koketo” Cota (4-0, 2KO) of San Jose del Cabo, Mexico into their fold.

“We are very happy to reach a promotional agreement with these 4 very talented fighters,” Eric Ibarra, CEO of TM Boxing stated. “In the next couple of years, they will be giving a lot to talk about. Isaac Lucero’s was a renewal of his contract since he has been with us for a little bit more than 2 years.”

“Isaias Lucero is a fighter who will soon be fighting in the United States while Armando Appel has given great performances in a number of our fight cards,” Ibarra continued. “Adrian Cota traveled to Tijuana at his own expense and has shown great dedication and discipline, we expect great things from him.”

“La Bestia” Lucero, 24, went pro under the TM Boxing banner in late 2019 and since then has steadily built an impressive resume taking up steam in the last 12 months. In December of 2021 Lucero captured the vacant WBC Youth title with a 7th round stoppage of Dilan Loza. He defended the belt twice with two unanimous decisions. The first over Cristian Sonora and then over the previously undefeated Eduardo Peña before relinquishing the title due to the youth title age limit.

The 26-year-old Isaias Lucero, older brother of Isaac, also had an impressive 2022, fighting three times. In his first fight of the year, the hard-hitting Lucero captured the vacant WBC FECOMBOX super welterweight title with a 7th round KO of Alan Zavala, he then scored a unanimous decision over favorite Rodolfo “Sinaloita” Orozco in May before at welterweight before stopping Hassam Valenzuela in the 4th round of a scheduled eight in August.

At 23 years of age, Appel is the youngest of the TM Boxing stable but lately has put a string of wins to make the boxing world forget his age. In December 2021 he won an eight-round majority decision over Jorge “Zurdito” Leyva which should have been considered a fight of the year candidate and last April in the rematch beat Leyva much more clearly with a unanimous decision. In his last fight he faced the tough Arnulfo “Pacman” Salvador and scored a unanimous decision in August.

Undefeated in four fights, Adrian Cota, 25, is willing to do what it takes to further his career. In his pro debut in late 2019 he took on the much more experienced Alan Zavala, who at the time of the fight had a 15-6, 13KO record, and stopped him in two. Cota then defeated Luis Juan Hernandez and Emilio Valle before traveling to Toronto, Canada, to defeat local favorite Mohamed Zawadi in his last fight last December.

“Every one of these fighters is a great addition to TM Boxing and an important one,” Felipe Leon, Fighter Relations Director, shared. “As a relatively new company we are only as good as our fighters and we feel our current team will soon be making a lot of noise.”
