Adames (R) throws a left straight at Derevyanchenko.

Middleweight contender Carlos Adames of Comendador, Dominican Republic now residing in New York, won by majority decision over former title challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko of Ukraine on the undercard of the Gervonta Davis vs Isaac Cruz WBA lightweight championship at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Sunday night (Monday in Manila). Scores: Jerry Cantu 95-95, Tiffany Clinton 97-93 and Damian Walton 96-94.

Adames continued to position himself for a middleweight title run with his third straight win after losing to Patrick Teixeira for the WBO superwelter title in 2019. Adames is now 21-1-0, 16KOs.
