PACQUIAO SAYS OSCAR'S PHYSICAL EDGE WON'T BE TOO MUCH

CEBU CITY--On board the private boat owned by sportsman-businessman Luigi Quisumbing during a cruise on Cebu waters yesterday, Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao revealed for the first time that Oscar De la Hoya may have the physical edge if indeed they meet on the ring, but that is not something to be overly concerned about.

In a conversation with Philboxing.com/Mannypacquiao.ph during the three-hour cruise, Pacquiao intimated that the Mexicans will stop at nothing to get a win over him, and this will include having De la Hoya fight him.

"Gusto talaga ng Mexicano na makaganti sa akin," (The Mexicans really want to get back at me) Pacquiao said, also insisting that if they ever fight, it should be in the 146-147-lb backyard.

When asked if De la Hoya's height and reach advantage would bother him in the event they crossed paths, Pacquiao said: "Not so much."

"Mas matangkad sya, pero hindo masyado malayo ang agwat. Ok lang yun (He's taller, but by not much. That's ok), Pacquiao revealed, before dipping into the waters snorkeling with his personal assistant Michael Evangelio.

Pacquiao later reached the Efren Gloria Floating Resto, where flabbergasted local and foreign customers who had been lunching had the time of their lives seeing Pacquiao in the waters. Upon noticing the boxing hero, a commotion ensued for the chance to take a peek at the boxing icon, and the humble General Santos lefty obliged for their request to come up to the restaurant for some photo ops with the customers.

"Grabe and mga tawo kung makakita ni Pacquiao, mora man maboang. Karon pa ko kita ingon ani nga phenomenon," (It's unbelievable when people see him, they would go crazy. I've never seen a phenomenon like this) said sportsman Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who was joined by Quisumbing and former Cebu City Councilor Jorge Rama on the cruise.

Pacquiao and his entourage were later dropped off at the private anchor within the Shangri-La Mactan resort, before proceeding to the Sto. Nino church.
