Los Angeles, CA. -- Today, March 5, 2008 is the last Wednesday Pacquiao will be training at the Wildcard Gym before he tackles his unfinished business with the last of the great Mexicans standing, Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez is the first on the list of title holders standing along the way towards Pacquiao?s bid to begin collecting titles and the belts that goes with them.

With the fight fast approaching, the promoters, Arum, Golden Boy, Romanza and MP Promotions decided to call the media to witness Pacquiao in training. They also get to ask a question or two. For the Filipino press people who already started pouring in town, this is the last big media day before the hoopla begins at Vegas.

After today, Pacquiao has three more days of sparring session left. One tomorrow, one on Saturday, and the last one on Monday. On Monday at about noon time, Pacquiao and Marquez will meet the media at the Olvera Street area in downtown LA to further hype their fight. After the short press con, Pacquiao will go to Wildcard Gym, do a few more rounds then will break camp and head to Las Vegas in the afternoon in a caravan of cars he will lead himself. Some cars will be loaded with equipment and his favorite food supply and others, his team, friends, select media people and supporters.

As usual, he will check-in at the Mandalay Bay Casino Resort amidst the hype that accompany fights of this magnitude.

Pacquiao does not only appear to be in top shape. He is in tip-top shape to be exact!

As veritable Pinoy scribe, Hermie Rivera mentioned, ?Handang handa na sa laban!? (He is all set for the fight)

Part of the huge throng of media people who have attended Wendesday's Pacquiao workout at the Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles.

With that, WBC Super featherweight champ, Juan Manuel Marquez better bring his best on the fight of March 15th. Otherwise, he will be in for a very short night because as many leading pundits had mentioned: ?a well-conditioned and a superbly trained Pacquiao is hard to beat?.

Although many fans and some media people expressed concerns about his weight, Pacquiao does not seem far from the contract weight of 130 pounds. In fact, early this week, according to reports, he was hovering around 133 lbs. Odds are the alleged difficulties he had the day or so before the Barrera-Pacquiao weigh-in at Las Vegas a few months ago will not happen this time around.

Praise the team for managing his weight so well. And, kudos to Pacquiao himself for the discipline and work ethic he displayed that led to his present shape and fighting condition. And of course, to Freddie Roach, Boboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri for the guidance they provided.

Finally, to the people ?around to him?, for not creating unwanted distractions that would have sidetracked the Pacman.
