Floyd Mayweather protege Gervonta 'Tank' Davis showed too much firepower against Hugo Ruiz when he broke the nose of the Mexican en route to a 1st round knockout at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) in the main event of the Premier Boxing Champions promoted card broadcast live on Showtime.

Davis registered his 20th knockout win in 21 fights as Ruiz, who just fought and won against Alberto Guevarra on the Pacquiao-Broner undercard last Jan. 19, didn't know what hit him. Time of stoppage is at 2:59 of the first round.

Davis finished Ruiz with a lethal right cross to the face by which Ruiz had a delayed reaction before taking a knee to the canvas. Veteran referee Jack Reiss asked Ruiz if he was able to continue and waved off the fight after sensing Ruiz was unwilling to do it.

Davis kept his WBA super world super-featherweight belt with the win.
