MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose, a huge boxing fan, is excited about Manny Pacquiao's welterweight title defense this coming January 19, 2019 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Rose, who has been invited by fighting Senator to watch the bout live at the arena, was all smiles when PhilBoxiing.com interviewed him outside the Timberwolves locker room on Saturday night (Sunday morning Manila time) at the Target Center where Minnesota spanked the Chicago Bulls, 111-96, behind the monstrous 32-point, 22-rebound effort by Karl Anthony-Towns.
With the NBA season well under way, Rose said he will do his best to fit the fight in his hectic schedule. But right now, of course, his focus remains lasered on the continued success of the Timberwolves who are currently 9-11 in the overall standings and fighting for a playoffs berth in a long season.

The 30-year old Rose, a Chicago native, starred at Simeon Career Academy before playing one year with the Memphis Tigers. He was taken as the No.1 overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2008 NBA draft.
Besides winning two gold medals in the FIBA Championships (2010, 2015), Rose is a three-time All-Star, a Rookie of the Year (2009) and the youngest to ever win the NBA MVP at the age of 22 in 2011.
The Pacquiao-Broner welterweight title fight will be telecast on Showtime pay-per-view and is promoted by TGB Promotions in association with Mayweather Promotions, MP Promotions and About Billions Promotions.
