?Magic? Mike Plania will see action this Sunday against Renan Portes at the Robinsons Mall Atrium in General Santos City. Plania (16-1,9KO?s) is the current WBC Asia Silver bantamweight titleholder. He weighed in at 122lbs while Portes (10-8,6KO?s) was over the limit at 129lbs. The fight is a 10 round non-title bout presented by Sanman Boxing Promotions in celebration of the November 24 birthday of its CEO Jim Claude Manangquil.
Plania had his first career loss last March in the U.S. against former WBA world bantamweight champ Juan Carlos Payano of the Dominican Republic by unanimous decision. He has since bounced back with two stoppage wins.
Omega Gym prospect Tomjune Mangubat (10-09KO?s) is pitted against Venson Delopere (6-3-3, 2KO?s)in another ten rounder. Mangubat was at 125lbs and Delopere a pound lighter.
