NBA -- Lakers ride win streak to four with win over Blazers

LOS ANGELES ? The Los Angeles Lakers extended their winning streak to four wins on Wednesday night at Staples Center.
LeBron James scored 44 points while JaVale McGee added 20 as the Lakers beat the Blazers, 126-117, for their fourth straight victory since acquiring center Tyson Chandler. James sweetened the triumph with the milestone of surpassing the late Wilt Chamberlain for fifth on the NBA?s all-time scoring list.
Brandon Ingram contributed 17 points, four assists and two rebounds. Lonzo Ball scored 11 points while Kyle Kuzma scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, off the bench, added 13 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Blazers star Damian Lillard led his team with 31 points, dishing 11 assists and teammate CJ McCollum helped out with 23 points, four assists and two steals as the Blazers suffered its first road loss this season against the streaking Lakers. Portland has lost two straight games to the Lakers this season after beating them in their home opener last October 18, 2018.
It wasn?t all good news for the Lakers as veteran guard Rajon Rondo fractured his right hand during the game. The Lakers will have to rely on their young point guard Lonzo Ball to play heavy minutes moving forward.
The Lakers improved to 8-6, third place n the Pacific Division.
