NBA - - Bulter's late 3-pointer KOs LeBron and the LA Lakers

MINNEAPOLIS - Disgruntled All-Star guard Jimmy Butler is not known as a three-point assassin but his late 3-pointer in 18.9 seconds left to play sealed the victory for host Minnesota against the visiting LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, 124-120, Monday night at the Target Center.
Butler buried five triples, including four in the fourth period. During the players' introduction, Butler received a lot of boos which eventually turned into cheers when the former Bull delighted the home crowd of 18, 978 fans by scoring the Wolves' first two points.
Butler led the Wolves with 32 points, six boards and four dimes. Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points, 16 rebounds, six assists and four blocks while rookie Josh Okogie, who started in lieu of injured Andrew Wiggins, had a career-high of 17 points.
Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague had only nine points while Taj Gibson chipped in just eight. Gibson blocked Kyle Kuzma's 3-point attempt in the last 35-seconds when the Lakers trailed only by two, 119-117.
Derrick Rose sprang off the bench with 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Anthony Tolliver went 2-for-2 from downtown and 10 points overall.
James paced the Lakers with 29 points, 10 boards and eight assists. Brandon Ingram pocketed 24 points, Kyle Kuzma donated 19, while JaVale McGee and Rajon Ronjo tallied 13 markers apiece.
The Wolves controlled the game in the first quarter, 36-32, but the Lakers took the lead at the 66-64. The action continued in the third period where the Wolves fell behind, 94-93, entering into the finals 12 minutes.
The Wolves grabbed 51 rebounds against LA's 48. Minnesota also had three fewer turnovers with 15.

The Timberwolves who now hold 3-4 record will host Ricky Rubio and the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night (Thursday morning Manila Time). The LA Lakers (2-5) head home to face the visiting Dallas Mavericks.
