CEBU ? Former ALA Promotions stalwart Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo has been reported to have signed with a new boxing manager and promoter after his managerial and promotional contracts with ALA Promotions had expired. Michael Aldeguer, ALA Promotions president, has sent a statement to Philboxing claiming that Magsayo still has an outstanding promotional contract with ALA Promotions that is good for four years. What expired, according to Aldeguer, is only the managerial contract.

Below is Aldeguer's statement in full:

Mark Magsayo still has a 4 yr Promotional contract with ALA Promotions. The only contract that has expired is the managerial contract.

We expect Mark to follow the Promotional contract to avoid complications that could affect his boxing career.

If there are other promoters interested, they need to talk to us.

RingTV.com's Ryan Songalia earlier reported that Magsayo has signed a managerial contract with Malaysia's Vikram Sivapragasam and, according to the report, will now be promoted by Now Boxing Promotions, a Las Vegas based company headed by Joe Dunkin, the brother of veteran manager Cameron Dunkin.

Aldeguer's statement contradicted with Magsayo's statement who told RingTV.com that his managerial contract with the Cebu-based outfit had expired in July, 2017 and his promotional contract had expired last month, May 25, five years from the date of his pro debut.

Magsayo who started boxing at 8 years old under the ALA Boxing Gym, is undefeated with 18 wins with 13 knockouts. His last fight was in his hometown in Bohol against Shota Hayashi of Japan on ALA Promotions 'Pinoy Pride 43' card last November 25. Magsayo, 22, stopped former world title challenger Chris Avalos in April, 2016 in Cebu in his biggest win to date. Fighting at featherweight, he is ranked No. 1 in the world by the WBO, No. 2 by the WBC and No. 7 by the IBF and is primed to challenge for a world title anytime.
