BORNEA WINS WBO ORIENTAL YOUTH TITLE IN GLAN

Former amateur standout Jade Bornea of Gen.Santos City kept his undefeated record and beat Danrick Sumabong of Bohol by unanimous decision in their fight for the vacant WBO Oriental Youth superflyweight title in Glan, Saranggani Province.

Bornea went the ten round distance after three straight fights via KO or TKO. Sumabong suffers his first loss at 5-1,4KO?s.

The 22 year old Bornea, now 11-0,7KO?s, captured the vacant IBF Youth superflyweight title last year by unanimous decision against Raul Yu of the ALA Gym in a fight held in Gen. Santos City. He defended it once by TKO against Thai Samuthra Sitharan in Polomolok.

Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil informed philboxing of the results. The card billed as ?Undefeated? was held Saturday.

During his stints with the Philippine amateur boxing team, Bornea got a bronze in the 2012 AIBA World Youth championships and golds in Asian Youth tournaments.

For the undercard matches ? the fight between Harmonito dela Torre and Jovany Rota was cancelled when Rota did not show up on fight night.

Former ALA Gym boxer Mark Bernaldez returned from a three year layoff to knockout JP Macadumpis in one round. Bernaldez is now 16-1, 11KO?s.

Ernie Sanchez stopped Noel Adelmita in two rounds, Ken Jordan beat Wiljan Ugbaniel in one round,Japan?s Motoki Osanai beat Alvin Bais in two rounds, Jason Francisco won by unanimous decision against Rocky Sardido and Regie Mananquil also won by unanimous decision against Roger Salaton.
