WOODLAND HILLS, CA -- Juan Valenzuela of Culiacan , Mexico once a prospective contender in the welterweight division made his long awaited comeback after more than three years of absence. He headlined Art of Boxing?s initial shot at promoting last night at the Marriot Warner Center in the gorgeous city of Woodland Hills, California.

Art of Boxing is a brainchild of ex- NABO champ, Kahren Harutyunyan, a one time opponent of present day Filipino flyweight champion, Nonito Donaire.

Valenzuela, (20-6-1) who many of his fans call ?Pollo? was rusty and the result of his comeback fight was not what he would have loved it to be. He was often on his bicycle running away from the fast charging but reckless opponent, connecting occasional hard counter punches to earn his points.

Valenzuela was held to a draw ( 79-74, 77-75 and 76-76) by a journeyman named Danny Stanisavljevic.(8-12-2) The luck luster bout was foul-filled. Valenzuela showing signs of obvious rust, seemingly ?run of gas? as the fight progressed.

Stanisavljevic?s last bout was a 4th round victory over Saul Roman, the same Roman who upset former IBF Champ Kassim Ouma at another fight card held at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California last night. Filipina Ana Julaton also fought on the card and won her pro debut over Rita Valentini, knocking her down twice over a four-round bout and winning by unanimous decision.

One of the sponsors of Harutyunyan?s initial promotion was ?MouthGuards for Champions? the mouth guard maker for Filipino champions like Manny Pacquiao, Nonito Donaire, Gerry Penalosa, Bernabe Concepcion and the ALA Boys.
