The promoters for Superfly 2, a huge boxing event scheduled on February 24th at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood and to be shown live on HBO held an unprecedented early morning (9:00 am) Media Work Day at the famed Wildcard Gym in Hollywood.

The Media Work Out Day was meant to exclusively to showcase two of the greatest Filipino flyweights in our generation, Donnie Nietes of Murcia, Negros Occidental and Brian Viloria of Waipahu, Hawaii.

No, the event did not draw the crazy hordes of media people much less the pretenders and hangers-on that we are all too familiar with when Manny Pacquiao holds similar events.

But, those that matter were there!

There were media folks from the local outlets as well as from the Mexican media. Balitang America in the person of Steve Angeles of LA headed the list of representatives from the Filipino media. Philippines? up and coming Sports 5 was there as well with their guy lugging a huge HD camera.

Nietes and Viloria did their stuff shadow boxing in the ring and hitting the speed bags, both single and double and the heavy bag.

For their part, the two Filipino boxers expressed their gratitude to the promoters and to HBO in particular for their inclusion in the first huge fight card for 2018.

They indicated that the opportunity given to them at this point in their careers is so heart warming. Nietes specifically dealt on that issue saying that ?it is an honor to be finally be seen in the huge international boxing market and live on HBO?.

After the media had done their thing, the doors were locked except for the members of the team where Nietes and Viloria sparred for a few rounds to complete their day.
