IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin 'Pretty Boy' Ancajas of the Philippines arrived at the Tom Bradley International Airport (LAX) Thursday night (Friday morning in PH) from Manila via Philippine Airlines flight 102 ahead of his title defense against Israel Gonzalez of Mexico on March 3 at the Bank of America Center in Corpus Christi, Texas co-headlining the card with Zurdo Ramirez on ESPN.
Ancajas, who had sparred more than 90 rounds in preparation for his first big fight in the United States and also his first fight under Top Rank Promotions, will stay for a few days in L.A. before flying to Texas on Jan. 28. Ancajas (28-1-1, 19KOs) is expected to have his hands full against the determined Gonzalez (28-1-0, 8KOs) who vowed to bring the title to Mexico.
Ancajas has been accompanied by his manager/trainer Joven Jimenez and former Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga where they were met at the airport by matchmaker Sean Gibbons and his son Brendan.
