THE SHOWDOWN AT GUANGZHOU DEC. 10

GUANGZHOU, CHINA ? There will be three regional bouts with four regional belts at stake at the Asian Games Stadium Sunday night. Kurtis Pegoraro of Australia and Eugen Buchmueller of Germany (top photo) will dispute the WBC Asia Boxing Council continental heavyweight title as well as the WBO China Zone title in the main bout.

Pegoraro weighed in at 207 lbs while Buchmueller was at 216lbs during the official weigh-in held Saturday afternoon at the Chimelong Hotel in Guangzhou.

Pegoraro (10-3,1KO) has won Australia Queensland titles as a cruiserweight and heavyweight. Buchmueller (9-0,6KO?s) has won the german International heavyweight title.

A Filipino will figure in one the title bouts. Anthony Sabalde of the RWS Gym of Cebu will face Wang Zhiming for the WBC ABCO lightweight title. Sabalde (12-6, 7KO?s) stepped on the scales at 133.7lbs while Wang ( 9W-2L, 3KO?s) was at 134lbs.

The WBO China National cruiserweight title will be fought for by Wang Jianzheng of China and Suthat Kalalek of Thailand. Wang (6-0 was at 194 lbs while Suthat weighed 196.4lbs.

The two undercard matches ? Talifeng Haoken (China) vs Chaloemporn Sawatsuk (Thailand) ? 6 rounds and Liu Shuchang (China) vs Cheong Lap Cheong (Macao S.A.R)? 4 rounds.
Supervising for the WBO will be Abraham Mitra from the Philippines while Damrong Simakajornboon of Thailand will be representing the WBC. The card is promoted by Jiashu Chen.
